This simple hummus salad dressing comes together in about a minute. Just mix the ingredients in a bowl and drizzle over a salad or buddha bowl. This hummus dressing recipe is perfect for quick lunches and meal prep!

I love making my own oil-free/low-oil salad dressings but I don't always have the time or energy to get out my blender. Sometimes I just want a super quick dressing I can whisk together in less than 1 minute. And that, friends, was the inspiration for this Hummus Dressing!
Not only is this WFPB dressing quick and easy, but it's flavorful, creamy, and delicious! I love drizzling it over salads, buddha bowls, and roasted veggies. As a bonus, this recipe is high in protein but low in fat, making it ideal for a light meal.

Why does this recipe make such a small amount?
I created this recipe to be easy enough to whip up for a quick lunch. You can easily double or triple the recipe for a larger quantity.
Where can I get oil-free hummus?
If you want to keep this recipe oil-free you will need to use oil-free hummus. I make my own following this easy oil-free hummus recipe.
If you prefer to use store-bought hummus but still want to keep it oil-free, be sure to check the label. There are a few brands of oil-free hummus, like Oasis Mediterranean and a few others, but you'll have to check your local grocery store for availability.
If neither of those options appeals to you, don't sweat it! Even if you do use a store-bought brand of hummus with oil, this salad dressing will still have less oil than a typical oil-based dressing.
Can I use other hummus flavors?
I have only tested this recipe with regular hummus, but I imagine roasted red pepper or herby hummus would also taste great!
Ingredients
- Oil-free hummus: You can either make your own, or buy oil-free hummus. Alternatively, you could use any type of hummus you have on hand.
- red wine vinegar
- dried oregano: dried basil, marjoram, or Italian herbs would also be nice.
- salt
- fresh cracked pepper
- water: This will help thin out the dressing to reach the right consistency.
Variations
- Mix things up and try this recipe with a variety of hummus flavors like roasted red pepper or green goddess.
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients except the water and mix together until smooth.
- Add water in small increments (about ¼ teaspoon at a time) until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste to adjust seasonings and serve right away, or store for later.
How to serve
Serve this Greek-style hummus dressing with a buddha bowl or salad. It would also taste great drizzled over grilled veggies. Keep it thick for a lovely vegetable dip.
Can I make it ahead?
Sure! It comes together in just a few minutes but there's certainly no disadvantage to making it ahead, especially if you are meal prepping for the week.
How to store
- Store leftover hummus dressing in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Delicious & simple. This recipe makes a delicious dressing that's a little different. I looked for this recipe to use up my left over Hummus with paprika flavour.
