Variations

Here are a few ways to switch things up!

  • Extra Spicy - Substitute the Buffalo sauce for a spicier hot sauce.
  • Air Fried - Prefer to make this in the air fryer, check out the recipe on my sister site, Air Fryer Veg!
  • Oil-free - For an oil-free version of this sauce, try this cashew based version.

Equipment

For this recipe, you just need a bowl for mixing, a small sauce pot, and a baking sheet.

All of my favorite products and kitchen tools can be found in my Amazon shop.

How to serve

Serve this Buffalo Tofu as a vegan version of hot wings, with a side of vegan Ranch or Blue Cheese dressing. They are perfect for game day or a party appetizer.

Baked Buffalo Tofu Bites also make a great main course any night of the week, and the leftovers can be added to wraps or sandwiches for a delicious lunch!

Storage

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Top Tip

Be sure to use tongs or a slotted spoon to transfer the tofu to the baking sheet. This will help you avoid getting any excess paste on the baking liner, which can cause the tofu to stick together.

FAQ

Can I cook these in an air Fryer?

Yes! Just cook the tofu in a lined air fryer at 400F/200C for 15 minutes. You can find the full recipe at Air Fryer Veg.

Can I make the sauce without butter or oil?

If you prefer to make these without butter, try swapping in this oil-free Vegan Buffalo Sauce.

What type of Hot Sauce should I use?

When I think of wings, I always think of Frank's Red Hot Sauce (Original). But feel free to use your favorite brand or whatever you have at home.
